So I say I'm getting better and last night I paid for it, itched all night, think I might have slept for about 3 hours, and I think I know for sure what's causing the itch, this damned Locust I'm using for firewood

It's some damned good firewood but I don't think I can handle it...

Didn't have poison ivy or some such on it when you chopped it up did it? Even the SMOKE from burning it can cause trouble. (especially since you have the opportunity to inhale it.....)

Locust itself will not cause problems. Gotta be something on it or nearby.

That's where it gets interesting.

The EX-Neighbor Druggie dropped a very large poison ivy riddled Locust on a fence in the garden sometime back, and left it. I cut it up late November/early December for firewood, and didn't once have any problems. It's all been used up too, none left.

Recently cut down 2 small dead Locust (all the Locust on the property are dead and rotting away), and that night the itch started then the next day the rash started. Week of prednisone and bendaryl and it cleared up.

Put some Locust in the wood stove last night, then the itch came back with a vengeance, I was itching literally all night.

There is no green growth besides some grass around the trees, and no live growth on the trees, so I'm not sure.

The doc wasn't 100% convinced that is was poison ivy but didn't take the time to figure out what it was either....

Couldn't find much info the web but the locust smells awful when it burns and has a black smoke out of the chimney, whereas the Oak and Maple (I think it's Maple) we burn has little to no odor when burning and grey smoke...

I'm more stumped on this then VDub is on why his truck won't run

^^ I'm betting there's ivy oils that soaked into the Locust and when you're burning it the oils are being released.

Bad, bad, bad.

And for heavens sake open the draft on your stove when burning locust. It should not have pitch black smoke.
