So the grandfather finally got to Galax. Tow truck was a Ford F650 with a Cummins (if that's right), he said it struggled for dear life to get to 65MPH with the "pedal to the metal"...

I'm glad I don't have to change out the alternator on the Caddy, it's buried down in there, damn sideways mount V8...

And the "battery saving systems", whatever it's really called, is almost stupid, once it detects the battery getting critically low it starts to cutting power, first ABS, alarm system, suspension system, radio, reduced lights, NO lights at all, dead.

Tell me about it. I feel sorry for the tech that has to replace it.

Damn sure does! Shoot, just remove the fan and shroud and you can stand in the engine bay!
I haven't had the battery ever get close to low so I don't know if there's any stupid electrical shutdowns.. Haven't heard of any though
