Whats your secret formula? 99 4x4 qcab 5.9 10-11 city....never better than 15 on the highway
Yeah I'm sure the "pedal to the floor" mod will kill you MPG![8D]
Hmm....had no clue that the depth in which you press the pedal is proportional to the amount of fuel consumed....[sm=burnout.gif] lol j/k.... i dont normally drive it that hard all the time...but i did read a thread where, if you baby your truck, you lose gas mileage...this is true cause when my wife drives it (she babies it too much), the gas mileage in the display goes down....
Im getting right around 14 MPG , thats with about 70% city driving, and i dont drive like a grandma... we Ram owners need to show the little ricers what CI and HP is all about![:@][:@]
i was down to about 13 miles to the gallon on the freeway going through the mountains, but i added hypertech programmer, headers, cat back duals, and 180 thermostat and i'm up to 16. when i haul my boat i got 9.5.
added to the list below is 285/75/16 procomp xterrains, noisy, grippy, full of traction and heavy. I run about 11 or 12 in town, not sure on the highway, everytime I am on the highway I am pulling the camper. then I get about 9
Ok I replaced the plenum and i baby the truck now...plus the below mods and I still only get 10.5 mpg.... any other suggestions as to what could be wrong here?
Babying it kills your mileage ... so does WOT. Accelerate normally to get up to speed and keep it there. Looks like the exhaust you've got reduced low end torque ... so babying it is out of the question. You need to find where the engine makes the most power and use it there most of the time. That's where you're going to get your best MPG ... well ... ignoring other factors like drag.
