Miles per gallon- What are you getting?
Highway - 27 mpg. Around town I can't tell ya. I'm heavy on the pedal and make all others choke on black soot. I have days where other challenge me and I know I get less than 10mpg....lol
Turbo - 7psi of boost
EGT's - 800 on a flat, 900 on a super NON humid day.
Croteau Custom 47/RH - Runs less than 160 degrees in lockup at 70 mph, out of lockup about 192-195 on a 90+ day.
ATS 5 STAR Torque Converter & Co Pilot TC controller.
At 70 mph, all you hear is a slight "whine" from the turbo, and about 1200 true RMS watts of Pantera comin' at ya.......LOL

'96 Extended Cab Short Bed 5.9L with intake, exhaust, and ignition; works out to be about 14-15 consistently in summer with a high of 17; winter is only about 11-12 [:@] damn wisconsin winters!
Mine's a 99 sport with the 5.9. I'm on stock size tires and have a flowmaster exhaust. I run 89 octane and i'm gettin about 12-13 constantly. I was thinking bout doing the tb if it makes that much of a difference. Any suggestions on that? I wanted to go with a bit bigger of a tire and maybe a leveling kit as well. Maybe 33's, but im afraid it'll hurt me towing my boat and camper on the highway.
hey, i run up and down the highway quite often and here latly i have been trying to figure out how fast=best gas milage.
There for I have concluded that if you go roughly5-8 miles over the speed limit that is the best speed at which the gas milage will be the best. That is fast enough to keep up with traffic and not get your doors blown off, however it is close enough to the speed limit to not get pulled over by 99.99% of the cops out there. And if you have cruise control use it. It has shown up that i get roughly 2 miles better in my truck and 1 mile better in my subaru. both of which are not big but nowadays that is like free Gold. and the best of all it is free. Just a thought guys

99 Sport Quad Cab, 5.9L V8 265/70/16, 73K Miles
87, 89, 91 Octane... doesn't matter. I get 11 maybe 12. If I'm pulling my boat.. I get 9.
I didn't by a truck with a V8 for the gas milage. I take it all in stride.

Thanks for the tip-I've noticed that somewhat too. I do a lot of highway driving and consistently do +5ish and get relatively good mileage for the 5.9; cops won't pull you over either unless you can't keep it between the lines. Also, keep the pedal off the floor and it really helps too
I have a 99 1500 4x4 5.9 with cat back, jet chip, airaid cai, high flow cat, average 16 on street and have been as high as 18.5 on okla highways. Put in new Bosch O2 sensors also. the thing sounds so damn good I have a hard time keeping out of it. Then I will hit around the high 13's.
