Default speaker install question

So my passenger side door speaker went out on my 2000 ram 1500. So I thought what better time than now to go ahead and upgrade. I went to best buy this morning and picked up a pair of th 6x9 infinity speakers. I got the door panels off, and the old speakers out. Now I'm lost lol. The speakers themselves have two little metal connections, not even wires, just like little holes where wires would go. The connection in the door is a wire connected to the plug/adaptor. My question is, is there something i'm missing, like a connection plug that i should have bought with the speakers......or maybe it's just a matter of cutting/sodering? any advice would be great.

Check the documentation for your speakers.... they might have something to say. (but, I wouldn't hold my breath. )

You will probably have to cut the connector off and just add connectors to it that slip over the new speaker connections

You can buy install adapters that you wont have to cut the factory wiring. They plug into the factory wiring and then plug into the speaker.

Do you have a link and are there any local stores that would carry them like pep boys or autozone instead of ordering online?

Again thanks for all the help.

You can go to homedepot, lowes, ace hardware, any auto store to get the ones I showed you. Just take your speaker with you. They will get you waht you need. They are really easy to use. Just cut off the connections at the door, strip back some of the wire covering and slide it into ne of those connections, clamp it down and connect...easy

If you cut the harness, make sure you know which one is your + and -. Everytime i would cris cross them the speaker always sounded scratchy at higher volume. Just a thought.
