I would agree with that lastrights. Biggest restriction along with headers, exhaust, and factory air intake. Well if you get it, are you gonna do a nice DIY for DF? Take lots of pics before, during, and after! Heck, if you take as many pics of the Hughes F1 Air Gap as you did you new hood, we'll be in excellent shape

It's just not as apparent as it was in the past. Look at Sheriff too.
I'm not entirely sure it was the new gasket leaking on mine since the bolts were all still at the proper torque and the gasket looked fine but there was plenty of oil inside/leaking out of the inlet from the PCV valve. When I took the Hughes belly pan off I did see oil on the gasket but I don't know if that seeped onto it when I lifted the pan or if it was indeed a crap gasket.

I'm happy knowing that the plenum gasket can't blow out again since there isn't one there to blow out.

Bigslick, Hughes sends a really good write up with the Airgap so you won't need a DIY if you get one.

Any one know what I have to do to the airgap for a 95 5.9l with OBD1, to make it work?

Modify the crossover line between fuel rails. Aside from that, it pretty much just bolts right on. I don't know if it has provision for EGR though.... Something to check in to.

OK thanks, on website it says modification needed but doesn't specify what. I'll give hughes a call and see what they say.

Also I think the egr only has a vacuum to the throttle body, where it syncs with the charcoal canister. I could be wrong though, been awhile since I looked at the egr

You'll probably have to grind on the throttle cable bracket (that's attached to the throttle body) some to clear a bolt.
Another note is; try your rail as it sits first before trying to change the crossover line. I had 2 different rails on my airgap, and neither one needed that line changed to fit.
I did have to tweak the little c shaped fuel rail spacers they provided to make the injectors sit true in the manifold. That was probably the hardest part of the install. Lol.

I've got one for sale in the classified section. It'll save you a little money over what Hughes is selling theirs for.

OK, I'm not at that point yet. I want to do the suspension first along with all the bushings and ball joints before I do work on the motor. If you still have it than I'll hit you up.
