Gotta love the great state of Georgia! Only state in the union where you don't have to wear a seatbelt in a pickup.

I've heard old Tom Murphy told the federal govt. to "f*ck off" when they tried to pressure the state into a seatbelt law for trucks by withholding federal funds...

LMAO. My dad told me last week that GA just passed the seatbelt law in trucks along with the new texting ban while driving. When I get pulled over, I'm gonna tell 'em "I didn't know ya'll passed a seat-belt law...when did this happen" lol

yep, just did a bit or reading up on it. Seems it's just a signature by the governor away from being law.
Article says that about $20 million per year in federal highway funds that were being withheld by the govt. was being used as "leverage" to get Georgia to pass the bill.
The state lost a lot ***** when good 'ole Tom had his stroke and subsequently passed away...

At least it isn't as ridiculous as in Florida where I spend half my time. You don't have to wear a helmet while traveling at 70 mph on the asphalt, but you not only have to wear a seatbelt in a 7000# truck, but have to wear a helmet in most counties while in a kayak! Now keep in mind there are NO rapids or rocks here. We are talking mostly the intercoastal. Yep, flipping and hitting your head on that salt water will leave a hell of a mark!!! Dumbasses!!!

Wyoming = NOT a Nanny state... We just got an open container law a couple years ago, and If I wanted to I could carry my Sixgun in my hip holster around town without a permit! I love it out here lol

If i had a gun rack in my truck i could put my rifle or my shotgun on it, but the ammo has to be under the seat away from the gun or in the glove box... or somthing. But hell out here, i live in a small town only about 6-7k people. And i never wear mine in my truck, i only were it when im driving my parents car.

A town is only truly small if you know everyone who lives within ten miles and can stand under the only flashing red traffic signal downtown and see beyond the edge of town in all four directions.

Where I came from you knew a guy was from out of the area if you didn't know him, his truck, or the dog in the back. If he pronounced Axial like the locals he was from a neighboring county, but if he mispronounced Piceance or Buena Vista you knew he was from out of state.

ColoradoRamLover knows what I'm talking about. Western Slope FTW!

Yeah, up here in illinois, we say creek like crick. But thats just us. I don't know how ya'll say it down there where your from, haha. But everyone says somthing a little different. And I agree, everyone here knows your name, what you drive, where you live, etc... And hell everyone in town has a scanner too, haha. Seems like you live in a town way smaller than me!

Yes, I do brotha! Although Im in the South West, I was born and grew up in the Western Slope for about 12 years.

Although my town only has 4 stop lights, and one road in and one road out. And you can definitely tell if youre a "towny" or not one.

But no offence the biggest culprits down here are Texans... ****in *** holes. Cut one off goin 75 in a 45 yesterday. In my little go cart temporary driver Honda CR-V lol **** was that fun...

Honestly, Im just gonna keep wearing my seatbelt. I dont find it stupid since it saved my life.
