how to destroy the neighbor's generator ?
this either has happened, or will eventually happen to everyone that goes camping. you find a nice place somewhere on public land and setup your camp. the birds are singing and everything's lovely. then some ******** pulls in nearby and unloads a generator and sets in out in the woods away from THEIR camp and fires it up. they're operating lights and tv and destroying the peace and quiet. they probably also have a barking dog, but that's another subject and i hope i don't spill any antifreeze in his bowl.
so here's my question - what additive could you pour into the gas or oil that would destroy or disable the engine, at least for the weekend ?
i want something that would shut the engine down for at least the weekend.
i don't want the engine to still crank or operate (and make noise), or be repairable to the average person.
i want something that's not obvious that it's been sabotaged. no need to kill or be killed over this.
sugar doesn't work; mythbusters proved that.
a disconnected hose or wire could be easily repaired.
water in the tank can be easily fixed.
stopped up air filter can be easily cleaned.
you'd need something that would either -
hopelessly clog up the carb (not just the filter),
melt the fuel line, and/or catch it on fire (delayed, not immediate),
overheat and/or seize up the engine.
interesting ideas, but not what i'm looking for -
.308 into the engine.
12 ga. into the neighbor's campfire.
dropping a large tree right on top of it.
blasting cap taped to the muffler.
anyone got any good ideas ? or bad ideas ?

Draino in the gas tank. Makes for an interesting show.......
Sand in the oil........ or the gas tank.......
What about stop leak in the gas tank? That could be interesting........
Iodine crystals, and ammonia water...... spread liberaly WHILE WET on some surface that gets nice and toasty warm, and is in close proximity to a fuel line, or something equally as flammable. RUN. When it dries, it becomes, erm..... shall we say... "unstable".... (and a fly landing on it will set it off.......)
crack the spark plug....... how many folks actually carry spares?
Cut the plug wire.
A two liter bottle makes a reasonably effective silencer, once........
Wonder if filling the gas tank with two part epoxy would add some interest? Or perhaps model airplane cement? (tends to melt plasticy pieces.....)
JB weld in the muffler?
Fill his battery with salt water?

good idea on draino or red devil lye in the gas tank. that might really make a mess. the only danger would be if they started working on it and got some on their skin or eyes. wouldn't want that, no matter how big a ******** they are.
i might have to try this on a sacrificial engine and see what happens.

It's not going to be easy to avoid obvious sabotage, but: spray starting fluid into the intake until the piston craters, then run like hell. If it takes your unpleasant neighbor more than a couple of minutes to get there the ether smell will dissipate. If he's not a gearhead he might not know what it is if he gets there before it dissipates.
I believe in the same episode they poured bleach in the oil and that took care of it
EDIT
Lmao... how about pouring some seafoam in the gas. and then casually walk over and say "Hey man idk whats going on with your generator you might want to shut it down". They might not try to restart it in fear of blowing it up kinda thing since they don't know whats wrong.
EDIT 2
HAHAHAHAHA "JET FUEL" anybody remember the one guy who used jet fuel in his 2nd gen a while back? This certainly sounds like the easiest thing to do.

Well here's a idea for you. Most gen sets need the proper governor settings to be spot on, if they are out a little bit some neat things can happen to both the gen set and what they are powering. If it's a good gen set it just won't run with the gov settings out of sinc.So just remove the gov spring or adjust the throttle stop screw on the carb it won't take much to mess it up.

Tell him to turn the F**ng thing off. I like the spark plug thing but it is pretty obvious. If they are away from camp, take the plug out and clip the end, and cut the rope where it will snap after a couple pulls.
a cupful of this into the oil and another cupful into the gas tank might make something bad happen.
