calibrating tires
Since putting bigger tires on my truck its obvious that the speedo gonna be off (10 mph difference for me). whats the best way and cheapest to recalibrate. The whole "Officer I just put bigger tires on" only got me out of speeding ticket 3 times and the cops are starting to catch on lol.

superchips will work on 98 and up.
don't get a hypertech. the speedo adjustment is hit or miss depending on abs equipment.
don't buy a superchips that is VIN locked. if you don't know what that means do a search. if you're looking at a used one and the seller doesn't know what vin locked means, then don't buy it.

actually, regearing will have no effect on the speedo of a 98 and up. it will remain incorrect because the speed sensor is on the tone ring of the ring gear, which is downstream of the gear ratio, and directly proportional to the tire diameter.
on the older models with the speedo gear in the transmission 94-?, rear end gearing would affect the speedo.

i forgot what gears i got in their right now i know its stock i just cant remember off the top of my head i replaced the diff fluid and checked the teeth few months back and everything looked surprisingly good ill have to hold off on the re gearing once i get her running again but deffenitely was thinking higher gear since bigger tires.
