Default Found a Ram, good deal?

I've been looking to pick myself up a truck to replace my car, I found this and to me it looks like a good deal, but then again I know nothing about the Ram line of trucks, or much about trucks in general.

http://centralmich.craigslist.org/cto/2117114187.html

I don't really like the white, but I think it's a pretty petty thing to complain about, honestly. I'm trying to find a truck in good shape, room for 4, late 90's or newer, and all for ~3000 or better. Not sure if that's possible but hey, can't blame a guy for trying.

I see that it has the rear doors(can see the line) but it has the older dash... How is this possible? Seems a little fishy?

Its not a 98, and it doesnt have rear doors, its either a 96 or 97 so its OBDII which is a good thing if you ever want to look at a tuner, if it has not been wrecked bad I would say its a good deal, and if you can talk them down some more then it could be a better deal, dont expect to get that mileage its very slim they get that, be looking at more closer to 14ish if in the shape it says it is

Pull the air cleaner. Look down the throttle body. If there is oil pooled, knock another 3-400 bucks off the price.

Take it for a drive. See how it runs, shifts, etc.

The cruise control buttons are wrong as well. It is NOT a 98.

Dang, you guys sure caught some stuff there I never would have...glad I posted this. I think I'm gonna hold out on this and keep looking around town and good ol' craigslist. I'd prefer something with 4x4. I'm not planning on doing anything extreme to the truck I find, just keep it looking pretty and running well! I just want something I'm proud to drive, you know?

Since you live in michigan..... four wheel drive is a good idea. Makes winter driving FUN.

It was actually my main reason for wanting a truck, I totally missed this one was 2wd.

And fun for me is "drifting" around turns using the e-brake on my current car

These guys on this forum are the best. Ive learned a lot here. Hopefully you find a good Ram for a good price. They are great trucks and are great to drive.

It's always good to find a forum with decent people. Now, this would be a haven for me if there was a "Ram buyer's guide" sticky at the top
