The price, $1400 for mine, and being in a ford family, there is no greater satisfaction then the look on my brothers face when I pull out his superduty with my 1500 and make him pose for a picture.

That's just mean.

I like it.

Had a 95 Ford F250, it was rusting. Decided to sell it. Always liked the look of the 2nd gen Ram and bought a 96 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 WS. Not as rusted as the Ford and had twice the miles. Won't look back at another Ford...

Being from a dodge family ( my dad had dodge's all his life), I always wanted one. When it came time for me to actually get a vehicle I couldn't afford to get any decent mopar

Heh, stupid iPod . Well anyways I ended up with a ford. Until last year I hadn't had a dodge opting out for the cheapest vehicle I could get. Well, after the chevy truck I was driving crapped out that was the last straw. I actually went out and bought my 1500. I haven't regretted it yet and is the best, most reliable, and nicest looking IMO vehicle I have owned

It's funny you say a Chevy crapped out and you got a Dodge for reliability. I was at a Chevy dealership with my Father-in-law when he was looking to get a new vehicle (ended up with a Yukon Denali XL). We were talking with the Salesman and my FIL complained that the Chevy's were so expensive and that he could get a brand new ClubCab Ram for $32k vs a Sierra for $40k. The salesman just kind of nodded and said "Yah, and Rams are workhorses too. They just go and go."

I was like, damn right they do.

That was but one of my reasons.

Everyone in my family has had some sort of Mopar for their first car. My dad had a Plymouth Fury II, my mom, a Plymouth Valient.
My sister has had 2 2nd gen Rams. Both are still running strong, driving.
I always wanted a 2nd gen since they came out and I was old enough to talk. lol
That what I bought.

My first SecondGen: 1996 5.2 4x4 91K (Purchased in 2003 for 9,250 OUCH!!!)
--Wanted a 1997 Chevy with the vortec. But it was hard to find one of them with 70-90K that did not cost 12K. 196 was in the Lemon Lot at Ft Sill, OK. I bought it because it already had a lift, FMS injectors and a mopar PCM. Plus the tranny was changed at 72K under warranty with the PO, so that helped. I didn't talk the price down because the owner was a Captain, and I was a cherry 2LT that was not even out of Officer Basic Training. It was the second car i had ever bought (First was an IROC)

Second SecondGen: 2001 4x4 5.9 w off road package 42K miles (Purchased in 2008 for 10K)
--With the new knowledge of being a member of this forum for 4 years, i took that and did a search. Someone in Fremont, CA was selling their truck. Had a chrome brushguard and rocksliders. 41,250K miles and still under the factory warranty until March 2011 or 99,988mi. 50 dollars changed the warranty over to my name.
--What sold me: It was a 2001, low miles, all maint paperwork, warranty, BONE STOCK.

I overpaid the first time, I got a steal the second time. However, the first secondgen i had, I owned at the same time as the second. The first one got me 5 TOUGH years of driving. Having it sit for 12 months while I was deployed really messed it up. It was never the same after that. I junked it (It drove and functioned) because the Transfer case was leaked and had been driven bone dry for about 4K miles, had a fire in the engine (documented here on this forum), and it had a gutted cat and I was stationed in CALIFORNIA at the time. If you sell a vehicle without emissions in that state, you have to pay for it to pass. SO I just junked it.
