Angry Labor Charge OK or just WRONG???

Ok so a couple of weeks ago I bought a used rebuilt tranny for my truck came with a 1 yr war. I get it in my truck and It works great for about 3 miles. Now I got nothing but reverse. So after 3 days(not counting the weekend) I finally get the shop that rebuilt it to agree to fix it. Long story on why it took so long but I'm ok with that part of it. Anyway He wants me to pay $300 for him to tow it to the shop (about 30 miles from here) Pull the tranny fix it and put it back in the truck. Says its labor charges. But the 1yr war starts over, as if that matters. Oh and the tow truck makes regular runs from my area back up to his shop so the tow fee is a non issue. The 300 is just for pulling the trans and putting it back. So does this sound reasonable or should I cry BS! Just wanna know what you guys think. And fyi I didnt put the tranny in myself I had it installed at a local shop so the rebuild guy couldnt say I put it in wrong so warrenty is no good. I'm in to this thing about 1200 so far and it's getting just stupid.

Read your warranty agreement that you got with the trans. (if you got one.....) If it covers parts only, pay the 300, if it says parts and labor, point that little tidbit out to him.

If he wants to claim the 300 is just for towing....... find your own tow truck, and have it brought to his shop......

Considering how little use you got out of it, I would think he should cover the whole nine yards. Including towing.

Well the warrenty was verbal. See I bought the tranny from Gary who had it rebuilt by Ken. Gary owns a tow company Ken owns the tranny shop. Gary is gonna tow it to Ken free Ken is the one that wants the 300 to repair the tranny. So I guess I'm lucky they are covering it at all. My fault for not getting it in writing to begin with. I'm thinking thank God I don't have to pay for a complete rebuild and pay the 300 and call it a day. I just wanted to know you guys opinion. Thanks

Just get a MegaViper trans and call it a day.
Won't have to worry about transmissions any more after that.

Sorry, I know I'm not helpful.

Looks like you learned a lesson here, and that's to get EVERYTHING in writing. AFIK, verbal agreements aren't enforceable in court. Also, don't waste your time complaining to the Better Business Bureau. They're nothing but a shakedown racket with zero enforceable power.

Paid cash for the tranny. Like I said I'm just glad I don't have to have it rebuilt at full cost. 300 lesson learned. For what I've spent buying having installed now having fixed I could've just bought a tranny from patc and been done. Guess thats what I get for trying to save a buck. At least I don't have to pay for the tow
($200), So thats something I guess. And this time I get a writen warrenty parts and labor so maybe it's worth the $300. Anyway just wanted some opinions I knew I was pretty much sc***** to begin with. I could pull it myself and save the labor but buy the time I buy a tranny jack plus 1 day to pull and 1 day to install I'd be out the $300 anyway not to mention the cost of fluid etc.. Leason learned and shared with the group ALWAYS GET IT IN WRITING!!!
