Default I solemnly swear...

So this is an apology to anyone who had to work on my old vehicles after me, and a giant &^%$ you to the previous owner of my Ram:

I can forgive the shotty wiring you did when you installed the remote start. Honestly, the insulation on the hot wires leading to the ignition is just for show anyways, and I think you were right to leave them off. And wire splices? who needs to solder them in when you can just get some tape and black jack to hold them together? Although i was rather confused when you soldered directly to the door lock switch instead of splicing in under the dash, but i have to admit it was effective.

Problems with the running lights? Jerry rig a switch to cut power to the wires in question, thereby giving you low beams and again, I fully agree that the switch works better than spending 30 bucks on a new module and of course, exposed wires are our friends.

But honestly wtf were you thinking? You went through all the trouble of tearing into the engine to fix the plenum gasket and your solution is RTV Sealant? I mean the least you could have done was give it a liberal amount of the stuff, but apparently in the tight economy that is too much to ask. What I really wonder is what you did with the new gasket that came in the kit with the front and rear main seals and the manifold gaskets. or had you decided to buy new gaskets after using your RTV fix method? And i know that scraping off those old gaskets can be a pain, but why couldn't you have taken the extra ten minutes to do so????

So following this I hearby apologise for all the shortcuts i took on my previous vehicles that have probably made the current owners just as frustrated with me. In other news, My truck runs great with a sealed plenum...

We can only hope you've found all their "fixes".
I don't know why some people attempt stuff on their cars if they can't do it.
Some people just aren't cut out for it, and those are the folks that break stuff.
*sigh*

And then sell the vehicle to some other poor, unsuspecting soul....

@OP: Don't expect that you have seen the last of the "interesting" engineering on your truck.... Life is just full of surprises, used vehicles, even more so.

You would really hate the wiring on all my lights.
I have a couple blue, a few red, a few black, some green, a lighter blue and a white wire all hooked up.
I know where it all goes but anyone else would just be scratching their heads.

The z71 I used to have had a power wire running straight to the fuel pump in the tank and hooked up directly to the pump with a toggle switch in the cab. Then the vent line on the filler neck was capped of with a 12g shell at the tank. It looked like they let a dozen 2 year olds wire the truck under the dash.

i am pretty good at finding electrical problems but what i really hate is when some uses all the same color wires to hook something up like whoever installed the electric brake system in my 91. they used all blues so it would make it more difficult to problem solve if it ever quit working.

You'd have loved the spacetrack radar I worked on in the USAF. We had many cabinets that were plumbed with tens of thousands of white wires, all the same gauge, and too small for labels.

Buddy of mine has a 60's model monte carlo that he had restored... overall it looks very nice, except for the engine bay. The "rebuild shop" he took it to (two guys in a barn that "know how to work on cars") thought it a good idea to paint the whole engine bay the same color as the body-- wires and all. That's right, every single wire in his engine bay is candy blue.

Add to this the fact that they botched the rebuild (it knocks excessively), and you got one pissed off customer. The entire transaction was in cash too, so no legal action can be taken, and these two guys dropped off the map shortly after he drove the car off the lot.
