Default sucks, but I'm selling

I hate to say it but I'm putting my truck up for sale. I have a new job that is requiring a longer commute, and I just can't ask that much of the old girl, not to mention the gas prices. I am going to hope and stay with a full sized truck, but it would have to be something relatively new. The new job is a great thing, but it just doesn't make sense to keep the Ram. If anyone in the area is interested, I am probably going to be asking around 3k.

If you want to stay with a fullsize and get decent milage you should look at the new ford f150 with the ecoboost. No other fullsize with a V8 will get a better enough milage to really make a difference considering you will have a truck payment (and even the ecoboost won't make enough of a difference to offset the payment). The ecoboost is an amazing motor though.

I am a big fan of the ecoboost, but i dont think i could afford it. Better mph is kind of a secondary concern, im more looking for reliability. My truck has been fairly good to me, but i dont drive it all that much. I know that doing a long daily commute is just askimg for trouble. I might just look at a nice 3rd gen hemi.

I would be more tempted to keep your ram, and buy something that gets good gas mileage for the commute. Or, does the nature of the new job require you have a truck?

I agree on trying to find something to beat around in.

I would buy just a beater, but it is a fairly far commute and I am looking for a reliable ride that makes a decent impression, as my new job will require meeting with clients and our affiliate owners and I kind of need something respectable. I really do not want to pay insurance on the ram to just sit around, so I am either going to have to get a newer ram (2007-2010) or just a plain old car. I hate driving a car... grrrr
