Center Console Project
Looks nice!
I'm planning on building a center console for my CB radio and HAM radios(s) if and when I get some. I got the wood and cut out the basic design of it however it's on back burner until I get some of the other things finished on the truck.
Saw some great ideas for custom consoles on this forum, Radio Reference forum and the internet.
Thought about removing the center seat too but can't bring myself to do it.

Removing it isn't hard. Four bolts. Then there is the wireing for the seats which is just cutting a zip-tie and 2 phillip screws.
Today's update: started building it out of wood, Got the 2 sides, lid, and 1 inside piece cut and installed. Also cut the 2 other front pieces. It is put together temporarily right now. Screws still sticking out, just to hold it together so I can measure next piece.

Nice work on yours though. I wish my cuts looked that clean and straight.
Actually it's about 1" - 1.5" shorter then the stock one. But I made it so I can easily make it shorter in the future with a couple simply cuts.
I don't know about your's and your design but I made it so it was easy to take back out and install the seat. But, I still only have my learners permit so I still got a while until I can have more then 1 person with me anyways. Also, other people riding with me doesn't really matter to me as you can see by the sub box almost up to the back of the front seats.
My interior is just like yours.
I'm planning on removing the stock fold down cup holder with mine. Heck I can't use it now with the current radio mount. The one I'm working on will slope down to the center seat, from where the cup holder tray closes, where two or more cup holders will be built into it.
Besides the CB radio, I'll mount my poly stinger charger, a 3 socket power supply and hopefully a power inverter. If I have room left over maybe something to hold a regular 3 cell mag light, hand held radio and Ipod (if I can get it working again).
I may have to come up with something to work around or with the 4X4 shifter. The other custom Ram console jobs I saw, here and else where, didn't have the shifter to contend with...
I just like having toys to play with.

I'm considering a similar build since the center seat is never used; however, I'm planning to make it out of aluminum and wrap parts of it in padded covering. My version would have a bay underneath where I can store tools or a toolbox.
