Thumbs down Increase in tire prices

Wow. Rubber is going up! I've been checking tire prices over the last 6 months or so and they have really shot up now. Two summers ago my mickey thompson atz 33x12.50r17's had a retail price of $248.99. Now they are over $305 per tire!!! Over $50 more per tire. I did some research and it seems tire prices will continue to increase over the next couple years.

That's a good enough reason to stick with Treadwrights.

How do you like your set? I see the 285's for a 17" rim cost $128. That's probably half the price of the bfg tire that has the same tread design.

I like them. They're wearing slow and get a pretty good grip off road, especially on rocks.
Mine are out of balance though because I threw a bunch of weights when I went to an off road park a while back and just haven't gotten around to getting them balanced again yet.
The last time I checked the BFGs were $220 each and I got my tires for $117 each.

Yeah, that sucks. Prices always go up. They never go down. If, by chance, they go down, it's only for a brief period. Then jump back up even more.

Dont buy oversized tires and you wont notice it as much. $300/tire is insane to pay on a 14 year old truck.

It boils down to what you like. I personally can't afford a new truck so 1200 bucks for tires every 2 years or so isn't bad.
