Heres my spectre CAI. Couldnt get myself to put the ugly POS black box on there for "cold air" intake. Id rather have the space to work. Really would rather port it to the fog lights like RM indy. Didnt do that though cause i plan on putting a cowl induction hood (functional) eventually.

Made my own brace for it

PS. got that with a used battery from a totaled ram for 40$ WOOT!

I bought a K&N CAI for $40 then sold it a year later for $50 here in AZ. I sold it after my friend vapor-locked his engine in his Bronco II from going into a river too fast. It scared me and now I run the stock set-up with a drop-in Spectre. I was using a 14x3 for a while but felt like I lost power and didn't like having it suck in hot air (not that the air here is cold though). Here in Phoenix we average 106 days per year over 100 degrees and 17 days per year over 110.

Definitely variable setups for CAI, per living location. I'm in Cali where is almost always perfect and i have E-Fans pumping in TONS of fresh air

Nothing CAI about that...Sorry, I'd say sell it for 80-90 and move on...Cold air is "COLD AIR". How can a filter stuck under the hood get anything but heat soaked...?

Think about it...See my sig pic? See the little shiney thing under the scoop...It's an air filer with this... http://www.nmbuilder.com/Pan_1.jpg

IMO, Most CAIs do more harm than good, because they are anything but CAI.

well you've got a hood scoop so you are pumping fresh air into the intake.

and i was exaggerating a little with the 100 degrees! we're in the midst of a freak hot spell. and i don't care what kinda setup anyone has, but when almost the entire country is 90 degrees+, ain't no one getting "cold air" in during the summer.

I hope your truck stays on the road, that little black box may not help with gettin cool air but it sure helps all the splatter from getting on the filter, mud and water dont do well with any motors

My truck doesn't see much of anything but concrete highways in nice California weather. Besides for me its only there until I can afford a cowl induction hood like I said in my first post. In my engine bay where the stock air intake hooks onto the fender, there are more pine needles and crap in that area then by my filter in my bay. Dually noted Filter Open to truck playing in mud = bad. Since he was talking about his Spectre HAI figured I'd show em mine.
