After destroying my second tranny in the old 2nd gen, I decided to use the money I would spend on a rebuild towards a new truck. (gonna rebuild the old truck and turn it into a mud rig)
very nice man ! ! hows the power diffrence and the comfort of it ? im debating on a 3rd gen but i may save a lil longer for a 4th gen because of the power diffrence for the hemi in the newer rams

Definitely a power difference, she gets up and moves way better than the 5.9 did. The 545rfe tranny feels like a masterpiece compared to the 46re (at least my 46re... never was quite right).
The cai I made today woke it up a bit as well. Next on my list is a tuner to get rid of the MDS which annoys me to no end (has a weird exhaust note when running on 4 cylinders).
Rides way smoother than the 2nd gen. Thats due mostly to the lift and helper springs I had on the 2g though (and I'm sure the IFS has a lot to do with that too).
If my tranny wouldnt have gone south, I probably would have held out for the 390hp hemi in the fourth gen. I needed a ride fairly quickly, and this was the best thing available.
Very nice, my fav color next to PR4 red. Ive heard the MDS with any sort of aftermarket exhaust sounds wierd. IIRC any tuner will remove it. I'm hoping my trans will hold out a little longer, its just now starting to slip, cant afford a rebuild or a new truck just yet.
