Got a ticket today, should I fight it?
Another law we have down here and one I don't agree with is if you are under 18 years old and get caught speeding 15 mph over the speed limit, you automatically lose your license until your 18th birthday or 6 months, whichever is longer.
Now I don't agree with this one because you are penalizing a kid much more severely than an adult, and if anything the adult should know better...

Georgia can be a bit crazy. Especially the friggin school system and their **** rules.

To the OP, I also say that if you are guilty, just pay it. But if you do decide to fight, I'd present your side in a nice and pleasent manner.
Another thing to concider is when/if you get in front of the judge, you may want to judge his/her mood before you decide to fight it or not.
Saying this because I've seen (while in court myself) where some one pisses-off the judge and everyone after gets max penelty cuz he's in a bad mood.
well your lucking i was doing 135mph in a 70mph zone(so the cop saids)
my speedo only goes to 120 and it was a little past... but 450 dollar ticket for speeding and a reckless....
he said if i was going 5mph fast i would of went to jail for double the limit
so i can't imagine your ticket being that high

Not that I know from experience or anything
in Ontario if you get caught going 50km/h or 30mp/h over the posted speed limit it is considered street racing and you lose you license and vehicle for a week. i am also certain you may be forced to pay the impound fee plus the towing bill which could also get expensive.
The cop that pulled me over was already pulling over, had his take down lights on, and was making the U-turn before I even passed him, and I have video to prove it from my Dash Cam. According to that site, that's the only way to get a reading from VASCAR when coming from opposite directions.
I'm getting this feeling that they have a dash cam of their own, are able to triangulate your distance with time elapsed to prove your speed, if you want to allow dash cam evidence of course.
I doubt it. Like I said we were going in opposite directions so he was traveling at highway speed as well. If he did not use Radar how could he of possibly known how my speed?
If he tries to change his story and say he actually used a farm of Radar I will just tell the Judge
"Your honor, on the citiation that Trooper B. gave me it says he did not use a form of Radar to detect my speed. Also it says that I was driving a different vehicle model that what I actually was. Now say theoretically the Trooper did use Radar. If he cannot use his equipment to properly fill out a citation then I question his ability to use the rest of his equipment within any degree of accuracy. "
I have a feeling the ticket will be dismissed or lowered significantly. ... either that or I'm going to jail. Lol

1st - I am not an attorney and this does NOT constitute legal advice:
It does not matter what is on the ticket - it is what is on the complaint document that the oficer files. You have the right to a copy of that. If there is a defect in this document, the case should be dismissed.
2nd - I would ask for a copy of any dash cam recording from the trooper's car if they plan to use it in court. You have a right to see any evidence they plan to use. If they do not produce, you can exclude it from being used.
Fight it, but do not acknowledge that you were going 57. That is an admission of violating the 55 mph speed limit.
Good luck.
(I do apear in court pretty often and testify as a prosecution expert on family violence and child sexual abuse cases. Admisability of evidence as well as proving facts are essential. A stopwatch is data driven, but as you stated, reaction times effect it's accuracy and calculations.)
