Stabil is just gasoline stabilizer, and it really doesn't do a very good job. Especially in two-cycle engines.

Yeah but we're talking about their marine additive here, not the regular Sta-Bil but I never had good luck with it either (talking the regular Sta-Bil here), I used it in my bass boat and when my parents got sick I rarely got a chance to take the boat out, when I finally did, the injectors were clogged and it ran like sh*t. Gas got Sta-Bil every time I put new gas in it and it was only about eight months old.

At $8 for a bottle of Star Tron that treats 128 gallons, we are talking adding what about a buck an a half per FULL tankful. For the extra 2 mpg I'm seeing out of it, that's a no brainer for me even without any other benefits...

ALL my gas gets this stuff. Truck gets 2 mpg better, about the same as when I could get 100% (non-ethanol) gas and the Jeep is closer to 3. Both idle and run a lot smoother. My seldom used gas engines never have carb problems anymore nor do I have to replace primer bulbs or fuel lines. My CanAm ATV runs smoother, starts easier and top speed floored is up about 5 mph (although to be fair, it's up at the farm and I lost almost 60 lbs. between trips up there and the addition of Star Tron to it). The stuff is also a 2 year gas stabilizer as well.

NO I don't work for them, matter of fact I don't work, got laid off the day after Thanksgiving, so I need every MPG I can get, LOL...
What would you (or others who have used both) recommend, use the star tron stuff or non-ethanol gas which I can get in my area.

If I were you, and I ain't, but if I were I'd run a bottles worth of startron, and then run the ethanol free stuff.. it will clean up everything the ethanol touches, and then, there being no ethanol in the system, you won't suffer the side effects of the stuff..

good idea. i think it might already be a bit too late for my carb though. i think it is already starting to suffer from ethanol poisoning.

I've always ran lucas fuel treatment through my tank and range anywhere from 1-3 mpg gains.

Sounds good, will also put some in the motorcycle and try to run a gallon or 2 thru it while off of work during X-mas and New Year shutdown.... If the temps stay decent...

I picked up two bottles of this star stuff today because of all this yapping about its benefits. But my truck has been down for a week or so because I haven't been in a hurry to finish what I was doing to it. To top it off that the truck has been down, it also has almost a full tank of ethanol-laced gas in it. I wonder if the stuff would mix well enough if I added 2.5 ounces and drove down a bumpy road.
