The paint and clear coat are peeling off on the roof of my truck.I see a few other dodge truck around town that have this issue but some of the other truck have peeling paint on the hood also.what did dodge do wrong for the paint to peel off like this?would be nice if they would paint it for us since they used cheap paint but i know they wont.does anyone have peeling paint besides me?

They changed paint formula's at one point, and they weren't quite as UV resistant as they could have been..... Given your truck is almost 12 years old though, don't expect them to do anything about it.

There was a thread just a day or two ago on this very topic. I vote for deleting the search bar button all together. At the very least it will totally eliminate any obnoxious, sarcastic, or the otherwise "do a search" answers.

Yep. I'd go so far as to say that most of us whose trucks aren't white have clear coat eczema. It's nothing to worry over. Paint doesn't last forever.

Honestly, it's to be expected when a vehicle gets to be about 10 years old. I painstakingly take care of my seven year old truck that sits out in the sun 365 days a year in the deep south. I'm talking like wash, clay bar, paint cleaner, paint sealer and then wax every six months. My paint is still in great shape.

I have a good buddy with an '05 Ford, dark blue which has a bleached white hood and roof already...
