Replaced on 12/2011 at 120,000 mi.
Gasket Blown? :Yes 4 blowouts and a piece completely gone.
Replacement? : Yes Hughes
Comments: This has to be about as bad as it gets.

Fantastic thread idea!

I agree WN. While the plenum gasket is a known problem with the Magnum engines, I think it gets misdiagnosed sometimes, especially because of a little PCV grime.

It still is a good idea to look down the intake with a flashlight to check for pooling oil on a regular basis.

Yup I agree...I just replaced my pvc valve...the inside walls of the valve were a black mess.... plenum area wasnt dry when I changed it but it smoked a hell of a lot less than when I seafoamed it 5,000miles ago. and plugs looked good dispite 4 of them only being screwed in half way by PO...

replaced after 130000
hughes plenum plate
gasket was blown in 4 places and 3 bolts were loose!!

I might have some pics to post soon. I decided to Seafoam today. And the amount of smoke was ridiculous. I find it hard to believe that with as little miles Ive put on her, it would be that bad from a dealer PCV valve. I really hope the hughes fix did not fail with a Felpro gasket. And yes I did it all right.
