I cleaned mine with a lot of brake cleaner and towels

I just do not understand the reason behind using a two peace intake manifold instead of the traditional one' cast Iron like the older engines had..

Just did the plenum swap over the weekend. That pc of gasket laying there was actually broken off after we opened the plate. I didn't have any missing chunks of gasket but the gasket was bulged out as you can see and obviously that is quite a bit of oil. I can't imagine that much oil could come in through a pcv valve but I may be wrong.
I'm no expert on this matter but I do know that is where my oil is going!
116k miles, 1.5 qts/800 miles.

mine was buldging out in 6 spots and had oil pouring out when i pulled it at 153k but i think it's been blown for about 3 years.replaceing with an ebay plate still having troubles finding a torque wrench that will hit the 84in pounds i have 3 and none go low/high enough

Just did mine on saturday and here's what it looked like!



It still has the cyl 5 misfire though changed the plugs (3rd time) while doing the plenum too. New cap rotor and wires a week ago

I can't post any pictures nor have I stayed at the Holiday Inn; however, Motel 6 has left the light on for me.

Not to mention the area in blue. Not only are the bolts too long, they are also too far apart. Looks like a small amount of bulging to me.
