Default exhaust question

Afternoon everybody, I am new here and have my first question. I have a 2002 Dodge 1500. I recently put a Magnaflow muffler on it and now the engine busts up when I hit the gas hard. When it is in gear and running, no problem, everything runns fine. when in nuetral however things are a little different. I can rev it up slow to say 2000-3000 rpm's and punch it one good time to hear her growl and she coughs and sputters like there is not enough fuel. Could this be the muffler or something else that just happen to start going bad at the same time? Thanks

Could be a clogged cat or blown plenum

2002 1500? Might want to check the 3rd Gen section.

Thanks for the clarification on the plenum. The engine is not burning or loosing oil but I will check it out anyway. The clogged cat is a little more plausible. Thanks for all the info. I will check and post what I find.

Gotta ask yourself why's the cat clogged?

What the heck?? Stopped by to price a highflow catalytic and the guy told me there are two on this truck. A front and a rear. I think I replaced the rear with a straight through muffler. This may be my issue. Has anyone heard of this two cat system? I have never heard of having 2.
