Default How to hook up a vacuum guage?

I've googled it and what ive come up with is if you don't have a vacuum port (which I couldn't find) then a t in the vacuum lines is the best place. All of the vacuum lines coming off of the intake are 1/2" wide or so and my vacuum guage tubing is 1/16" I believe (I could be wrong with both numbers). Does someone make an appropriate t for this? I could not find any specific threads to our trucks so Im hoping someone can help me out. And I read that getting a reading after the check valve isnt accurate, is this a valid statement? Thanks a lot

On the passenger side of the intake, 'bout halfway back, are two (maybe..) vacuum ports on the manifold. They should branch off into some teeny tiny plastic lines. Should be able to get a T fitting from the parts store that will fit. Just make sure you splice in BEFORE the check valve.

You don't have a spare port hanging out? On mine there's a spare on the driver's side, a few inches from the brake booster line, forward and down a bit. Anyway, if there's not one just tee into anything that goes directly to the manifold. Your FLAPS ought to have a selection of tees.

Upstream of the check valve (on the side of the valve furthest from the intake manifold) you'll not see instantaneous manifold vacuum, but some recent peak vacuum. That's only useful if you're troubleshooting wild vents.

My 2000 also does not have a test port. Used the "T" in the manner described.

Upstream, as you can see, is much thicker rubber hose and I'll go to advance tomorrow to see if they have a special adapter, but I kinda doubt it. Oh well, has anyone had any luck putting a quage inside of the center console? I want to keep it out of the way and don't really plan on using it except to see how my engines doing. Does all the extra hose I would need affect the guages performance?

Not to be pedantic but I just can't freakin' help myself: The side closer to the manifold is downstream.

I've never been inside one of those stores, but if they don't have the correct tee I'll be a bit shocked.

Carefully pull the 90 degree elbow off the intake. Then, carefully twist and pull the 90 off the check valve and with the correct size vac hose. Install the T between the two.
