Default Good news, bad news, and good news

Well i mentioned it before, but dont know how many remember, but last saturday (4/7) i got married!!! Had an awesome wedding. I rented a place that has on one side a banquet room, and the other side a bar. I paid for the whole thing and it just was perfect, i got everything my wife wanted (love saying my wife) and she had a blast too....we got completly smashed, and my parents reserved us the king suite at a local inn, that was awesome, and it just feels great to be married!

The bad news..........my truck...........ive been driving back and forth to work everyday (125 miles round trip) and ive been working overtime so its 6-7 days a week i drive there, well my truck is at 228,588 miles, and shes parked....the motor and trans are still great its little stuff....bent control arm, leaking every fluid except brake fluid, transfer case is on its way out i think, fuel tank strap snapped, many exhaust leaks which is my fault for not getting the right size adapters when doing my muffler, and uneven tire wear. She still runs and is still insured/registered, but shes a weekend warrior now, just use it for dump runs as of right now....but over the next few months ill be fixing her up....after a long debate with the wife i told her i cant get rid of it, i love my truck....but she will be ressurected, try to make it last me another few years, motor and engine run great and my frame is great except for the little holes at the very front of the frame which can very easily be fixed....

Soooooooo since my truck is parked, i bought a new car this past monday...its a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon 5 speed with 81K....and its mint, no rust, its red and looks flawless inside and out and runs like a top.....i got lucky, cuz my credit SUCKS, and theres a repo on it from 2008 (actually self surrender, i threw the keys in dealerships face when the voided my warentee...long story)....but the bank took a chance, cuz of my job and i make alot of money, and gave me the loan, its cheap payments, cheap insurence, its only a 3 year term and it will rebuild my credit. also for the next 2 years/24000 miles if the engine blows, tranny blows, clutch goes etc, i pay 100 deductable and it gets replaced...couldnt say no to that.....ive been driving it to work, and the gas mpgs is awesome. even with the a/c on, she gets around 30 mpgs....without it on, well ill let you know, cuz ive gone 248 miles and i still have a 1/3 of a tank and its only 43 bucks from empty to full at 3.99 a gallon...this is my second tank of gas, and im running it to empty, im figuring around 33-35 i hope, its a small tank, but goes forever....cant beat it

but all in all things are going excellent aside from the overtime im working, i going through a 19 day stretch and tomorrow is day 6...and thats not saying i wont have overtime two weekends from now, i might have a 26 day stretch but we'll see, banking up, i have the wife stay home and watch our daughter, so i gotta take care of the fam, even though i dont need the overtime, im takings it cuz i like money...but dont we all...and i want to save up for a good honeymoon this october 31 (will be 6 years we've been together) and i want to go out of the country, so i gotta work

Well i went through my first FULL tank of gas....i was able to go 363 miles a little less than 1/8 of a tank....took 47 bucks to fill it back up at $4.02 a gallon....im saving TONS of money on gas...it use to cost me $35 a day to go to work and back....on $47 i can go to work and back 3 times, plus some in town driving....cant complain with that.

Also i took my RAM for a ride today, first time shes moved in a week. Fired up first crank, and oil PSI went right to 45-50, and stayed there....it was a REAL rough ride....im use to the car now, and my truck just feels dangerous compared to that....but she went good none the less. Im still gunna drive it at least once a week to keep fluids moving....

But ive been working like a dog, i have tons of overtime right now.....i had last monday off cuz it was my wedding weekend, but ive worked everyday since last tuesday, and the way it looks i wont have a day off until a week from saturday, and i probably will have OT that weekend, but they wont ask me until next week. I dont have to work the OT, but saturday is time and a half and sunday is double time....so sundays im making over $50/hour, not gunna say no to that, plus we have weekday overtime...tuesday wednesday and thursday im going in 2 hours early and get the time and a half for those two hours.....but tomorrow is day 8 in a row...im exhausted but the bills are paid...dont need the overtime, but thats all my play money i want my truck running good again

and yes ive considered moving closer to work, but my family and friends are in this area, so its easy to get a babysitter when needed, theres alot to do in my area (great camping/fishing...and LOTS of country and woods.....and im stuck in my lease till september, but come september im going to be getting a house and it WILL have a big garage, and probably still in the area im in.....

I build navy battleships...carrying out the tradition, my grandfather was here 44 years, my dads been there 33 years, now its my turn, and my dad still works there so its cool working with him.

heres a video of them moving one of the sections of the ship to meet with its other part....Really cool video its the biggest piece ever moved in any shipyard at 4400 tons....and this ship we are building is the first of its kind, never been built.

Wow. That's pretty intense.

I think I would consider buying stock in whatever company makes the tires for the transporters.....
