Default all dodge fans have a mind puzzle for you

i have a 98 dodge ram 1500 magnum with the 5.2. i was sitting at an idle one day and it died on me. i dont have a bunch of money to throw at it at one time, so its sat at my work as i buy parts and put it on. i have fuel. pump is working fine. but i have NO fire at all. i have replaced the coil, pick up, cap, rotor, checked the fuses, switched relays around.. i have power going into the distributor power going to the pick up, power to the coil but still no spark. every test i have done leads to the truck should be starting up but still is not any suggestions??

Pickup coil in the distributor has nothing at all to do with the ignition side of the equation. It's all about injector timing. Sounds to me like you have a bad crank sensor...... Passenger side of the block, behind the head. Hard to see, fun to change....

You realize that a noob may not fully appreciate the satire, and after skinning his knuckles, learning new four letter words and proficient use thereof - may think you are a depraved as VW......Oh, wait, being a noob he will not know the depth of VW's depravity! nevermind.....

OP - disconnect battery while changing/replacing any of these electrilc parts. This will reset the PCM for it to "relearn" the sensors.

If one has skiny hands that fit between heat shiled and valve cover, it's not so bad....

....but remove old one and take to parts store if this is the problem. More than one member here was given the wrong one only to have it chewed off because it went in too deep! And it is much easier the third or so time changing!

Use a 1/4" hex head on a 6" extension for easiest change out!
