I been thinking about using the little holder on the ceiling for a gauge pod, but I had seen where someone did it with 2 toggle switches there also. I however have thought on the 3 going the side also.

I plan on having on board air and will need to be able to watch the tank also..

 

i don't think you would want to be hanging any important gauges from the roof. i think it would be so out of the way that it would be dangerous if you try to check them while driving. i think it would probably better to get a pillar or dash mount gauge setup. i think having switches in a overhead console would be cool. i have been trying to locate one for my trucks but have been kind of S.O.L. finding what i want.

 

I agree. Being able to just flick your eyes to the side abit, to see what the important gauges are telling you is definitely the better plan.

 

I think you should mount them behind the seats, or perhaps in the glove box.

 

HAHAHA 2x thats real funny if I did one up on the roof deal. It would be the air pressure gauge so I can know whats in the tank.

 

How many gauges you plan on running?

You can do 3 on the pillar and one or two on the steering column.

My pillar is custom because of the pulse mount and dual boost gauges, but here is my setup:

Lmao. Nah just trying to help with ideas and show him what it would actually look like in a dodge.

Manufacture pics only show you the pillar mount itself or the column mount itself. They never show pics of them installed with gauges in them.

 

I was the one that had the switches mounted in the overhead console, I thought they looked better up there than drilling holes in the already brittle dash.

one of them is for my led running lights and the other is for my hid foglights. There is still room for one more once I get around to wiring up some reverse foglights.

good luck trying to find a roof mounted console though if yours didn't come from the factory with one, as they are usually either broken or have already been removed.

I was lucky enough to be at the local pick-n-pull when they brought in a "new" 2nd gen in the yard.

I was the first one to get to it and by the time I had the headliner removed and console out, there was 4-5 other people ripping off their own parts!
