Boy's toys...r/c's and art.
Just wanted to see if anyone else had toys we could chit chat about. This is a traxxas tmaxx, with a 3rd gen Ram body I airbrushed. I ran 5 tanks of nitro fuel thru it tonight, and it was running super strong for a 4 year old nitro motor. Still does 50 yard wheelies, when the carb. is tuned good. Without the wheelie bar, it'd flip itself on it's top side in a heart beat, but with the wheelie bar, it just pins the wheelie bar wheels to the concrete and scoots at about 40-45mph across concrete. So sweet when it hits it's 2nd gear, and just puts the power to the ground. I've beat a mid 90's blazer and late 80's s10 (like 1/16 miles race ofc).
But, I got a 3rd gen. dodge in the bed of my 2nd gen. dodge. Let's see anyone elses toys, and anyone in the nebraska area, I custom paint/ pinstripe, so if u want a r/c body done, let me know. I'm cheap. I've been pinstriping for 5 months now, so here in another few months, maybe next year, when I feel comfortable putting a brush on someones actual vehicle/ paint, I'll pinstripe any vehicle with a dodgeforum.com sticker for free. I've been so close to pinstriping my truck a few times, with just some basic stripes (maybe some fancy ones too), but when I go to do it, my nerves tell me to keep practicing. Pinstriping paint is fairly permanent, unless you immediately erase an error. Someday soon though, I'll be posting up my pinstriping, on my dodge. I'd love to see anyone elses pinstriping, and chat with the artist as I'm really enjoying the old fashioned art of pinstriping with a brush and paint. Tis so much cooler than the stupid pinstripe stickers, and the designs are limitless.

I have an older traxxas stadium truck, not sure what its name is but ive had it for about 8 years, last time I ran it about 3 years ago it was quick.
I did donuts with it in my dirt driveway until the brand new back tires were bald. I'm not even sure how big the motor was, maybe like a .15 hp
It was my main hobby until I bought my ram.
Man those things were expensive, paid like $600 for it brand new, a gallon of nitro fuel was like $15, and everytime I'd lose control and hit something it was like another $100 to get it racing again.
Now a days my hobby is collecting and shooting firearms, which isn't exactly cheap either.

I used to have a Team Losi Triple X stadium truck with the fancy pants graphite chassis (well, I actually don't know i that's fancy or not...) and titanium control arms and stuff. I got it for free cuz the pull starter was busted, so i started it with a drill haha and it was tons of fun when it was running right, but i hated tuning that thing all the freakin time to get it to stay running, but not run too lean. So I got rid of it. I would like to pick up a 4x4 sometime, but it would be a brushless electric kind of thing.

I still got alot of my RC cars right now...havent touched them for at least a year or two....Tamiya TT-01 (x2), Losi Rock crawler, Traxxas tmaxx, a jammin brushless buggy, another Tamiya Keenhawk, And 2 more vehicles i dont remember then names for. Helicopters: Eflite Blade CX2, MCX, MCX2, MSR, SR. Ultra Micro planes: A Parkzone P-51 Mustang, and a T-28 Trojan.....I used to work at the local Hobbytown USA till they closed down. That stuff was wayy too much fun I may have to get back into it now....

i have some cheap electric RC cars that i no longer play with. batteries are too expensive for the good ones and most places no longer sell some of the batteries i would need. i did start getting back into rc cars a bit. the only thing i am waiting for is ESC. once i get that i will be all set to start driving them again.

I also got a traxxas shash 2wd . Tis a good time with 7 cell batteries, but needs the brushless+lipo batt.'s for some more speed. (60+ with the right combo.) And one of the brushless piper cub planes, for beginners pretty much, but still a 4-channel, making it a bit more fun, when the wind cooperates here anyways. Not too often. A couple non working brushless heli's I haven't messed with in years too, lol. Traxxas makes it sooo easy to tune the carbs, and repair/ replace parts, I'd recommend their products to anyone. I'm a frequenter of the hobbytownUSA stores here in Omaha.
Anyways, had about 12 beers n decided to pinstripe my mini portable air tank, since it's the first glossy thing I could find in the garage tonight. Here's some pics. I've been practicing a lil while, on just a big picture frame glass, with the picture removed. This, besides some plastic welding masks, and a baseball helmet is the first thing with decent glossy paint, i've striped. And after painting this, I still need a long while before I put a brush on my truck, lol.
Just bought a lil can of red today, so had the urge, to get some practicing done, after a few beers. I've only had black n white paint for the last few months (cheapest) to practice with, so this is actually my first 3-color practice. The red overtook the whole thing in my opinion. Lesson learned. Anyways, it's rough, but I said r/c's and art. Here's my first permanent art. Done tonight, lol, while buzzed up (still buzzed up :-P), cause I keep a steadier arm, with some alcohol, lol. comments/ suggestions welcome. If you're old school, and don't like it, plz tell me why. I'd love to make pinstriping a career. It's fun and a profitable hobby, if you have a steady hand, which I do...sometimes.
black first.
then white
then red. Seems to me, like too much red, since it's on top. Maybe I'll spread it out more tomorrow, try to get the colors all evened out.And sobriety might help, lol. Way more fun than the sticker striping, which I've also done on a friends car, back in the day.

I am not big on graphic designs like that or flames personally. But I do recognize the talent it takes to do it. I have a couple air brushes, but no talent for things like that. I have seen some pretty unique and nice looking graphics and on the right surface and the right desing, admire them quite a bit. Maybe if I could do it I would look at id a little differently.
And I think you are right, the red does kind of take over. Maybe if it was applied fiurst. Still looks pretty good.

After watching a few youtube videos, decided to change the style, and try some scrolling. Turns out to be pretty damm fun. These are my first scrolls, and are far from perfect, but I thought they turned out decent. And I don't know why the stupid pic came out sideways on my phone, but you get the idea.
