As far as I'm concerned it's their own fault, with a little help from the bad economic situation of course. But regardless, Chrysler doesn't put any where near as much R&D into racing like Ford,GM and Toyota. So it's not very appealing for teams. Chrysler is on more of a Retro kick than Ford or GM. Dodge has what, 2 or 3 models on the retro kick (Challenger,Charger, Dart) , and Ford and GM have the Mustang and Camaro (which btw is also going to on track in 2013)

And what, exactly, does that have to do with NASCAR?? Nothin', that's what.

Bad economics and relying on one team lead to them withdrawing. Whether it's a money thing or not (Dodge upped their money this year and I believe was prepped to spend more next year as well), they sunk some dough in the 2013 race car and were, in my opinion, stepping up to the plate. Old rich uncle Penske put them in a bad place by jumping to Ford.

There is more politics in NASCAR than in DC sometimes.....and in both places, its all about who gets the money.

They are saying it as a 2013 deal only, how realistically a return in, say, 2014 or 15 is? I don't know. Seems like an aweful lot of money down the drain on the 2013 Charger development, but it wouldn't surprise me at this point.

It has to do with what I said in the sentence before that.
