The solution here is obviously to jack up the radiator cap and pull a new vehicle under it. Okay, got that done? Now replace the radiator cap, you will probably have cooling issues.
/note No, I don't have anything useful to add here. Except maybe my brother had an '03 Trailblazer that was falling apart and wouldn't run right. After a ton of money in throwing parts at it we just gave up and bought a Dodge.

My mom has a 2009 and it's had a couple issues. Chevy has gone downhill quality-wise since they started packing a bunch of electronics into their vehicles.
My moms has a resistor pack connected to the air controls that keeps burning out and she also has a check valve connected to the exhaust that is bad. When that check valve is bad it will make water collect in a little blower motor under the vehicle and when that happens then the blower motor will make similar sounds to a jet engine spooling up.
