Where is the output shaft sensor (is it as obvious as it sounds? ) and can it be removed without draining the trans?

 

Drivers side towards the rear of the Trans, look at the new sensor and find it, not too hard. You will need a quart of ATF+4 as some fluid will come out. I put some fluid on the new o ring of new sensor and swapped it out as fast as possible

Speed sensor. Never heard it referred to as output sensor, but it is on the output part of housing behind OD.
