This will give you an idea what all is in a BC VI. For all the items you must be within spec for each and that info is not online or free you have to get the book. Then there is the whole modified truck issue, so more guidelines to follow there beyond the basic VI. So you have no idea what is needed to pass unless you borrow or buy the book.

I would love to build some of my own parts (control arms and things like that), use hime ends, but thats not going to cut it up here. It's best if all the parts are bolt in and come from a brand name manufacturer, having receipts goes along way as well. All the steering linkage must have closed tre's no hime's, no welding at all. Can I build my own bumpers yes but they must meet the VI spec's.

The techs that do the inspection have very hard guidelines to follow and they are not open to interpretation at all. They can lose there tech ticket and there job if they step out of those lines.

My biggest headache was the DRL's, and that was me not them.

Once passed you must then fill out a form and submit it to ICBC.

No John it is not, a wonderful loophole they have. If they did there would be a lot more happy people with lifted trucks out here. This is there way of being able to send you back in for a reinspection the next day even if you did nothing to the truck to change it. It's up to the discretion of the officer or CVSE people if they send you in or not. What happens out here John is people get a VI so they can't meet the vi spec's, so they make the truck pass by lowering it or change back to stock, say stock DOT headlights, they then go home and reinstall those parts again. From what I have been told and read this goes on lot's over on the coast. To the sad point of people just sell the trucks off for parts or cheap.

Edit; I carrey dated photos of my truck in the insurance pouch that matches the date the VI was done, best I can do.
