Electric Fans
I finally finished my fan setup over Thanksgiving work shutdown along with a host of other motor work. I really like how it works and frees up engine room plus how it gave me more power/snap to the engine, very quiet now until a fan comes on. A lot of wires to deal with so I took my time and hardwired and encased them all and tried to route carefully so it would not look like a bunch of spaghetti. I bought the shroud and controller from TCP for $320 and the fans from FFDynamics for $220 shipped so not real cheap but worth it IMHO. I have a bunch of pics but have not learned how to master photobucket yet so here are a couple fingernails.
THANKS to Laramie for the tips on the install.

Nicely done. We are brothers.
I did do the full TCP kit and have been meaning to provide a review b/c there was a problem with their kit from earlier this year. The took care of me provided updated shroud, retrofitting mine, and new controller and sensor.
What I don't like is how clean you ended up doing your wiring.
I need to still tidy up some wiring.
Care to elaborate on your incorporation of the digital meter? Also are you hooked into the A/C?

yes, look nice, everybody knows you convert the fan. but you paid too much money just for fan. i did my job with two 12 inch electric fan from ebay for $40, and $34 for the fan control from autozone, they fit nicely inside the original fan shroud , and cycles smooth. no one know i convert to electric if they don't look in to it.

they look good but i don't understand how you can spend $540 on them. you will never get your money back out of them. i know i got electric fans for my 81 and don't even think i will see the $40 i put into them back. some of the best gas mileage i have ever got was with the mechanical fan. haven't even come close to my best gas mileage numbers since i installed the electric fans.

at $540 i would be expecting it to save me some money. it not like there cheap Chinese fans that you just strap to the rad.
If your truck gets 12mpg, and the fans only get you a .5mpg improvement, at $3.36/gal (my current cost) it would take 48,214miles to recover the $540 outlay.
If you get greater mpg improvement and/or gas prices rise, the recovery time diminishes.
