ya but i live in canada which kinda makes me feel better but im still not happy about it and he wanted around eight for mufflers and stuff so i said **** that ill order and put it on myself

 

So what province do you live in, because I only know of one that you might get away with that. Get stopped and chances are you have to go through a full inspection. The OPP and out here in BC that would not be tolerated one bit.

 

Holy smokes.... if its just manifolds back, we used to do those all day for 200 a truck...... or less....

 

Even for canada thats a rip-off and a half. I live in Ontario and I can get true dual straight pipes for average $350. Id look for another shop if I were you.

Saskatchewan and i thought it was a rip off but ive never got anything done like that but they are really my only option, and i know a fair amount of people than louder than loud diesels straight piped and one snappy gaser that have gotten away with it...so far. My appointment is tomorrow, and i dont really have the ***** to cancel it or try to barter. idk what a guy should do

 

Find another shop, even if you have to drive an hour or two to get there, you will STILL be saving money.

Have the *****. They are ripping you off, you know it, they know it. Don't let them. Just tell 'em flat out, That is too much money. Find another shop.

That would be the province, you'll be fine. People out there still put bull horns on there hoods and dingle ***** inside? ez now jk but they did do it at one time. I just got the finger from my wife for saying that she is a saskabusher as well.

 

800 is way too much, I hope you didn't go that appointment. Even here in Ottawa (where everything is about 4 times more than what it should be) that's pricey. Do you have a welder, or at least a sawsall or grinder? You could always buy the pipe and a bunch of clamps and hanger and do it yourself. I did a cat back on my truck for about 250 with the muffler. Come spring I'm buying more pipe, long tubes and another Cherry Bomb and doing dual's. Will be alot cheaper than any shop.

 

im in oil field country everyone is over paid, the local diesel mechanic charges 200 sum an hour most other ones charge 150 hr. its bull crap
