our motors are much of the same, but i have a little extra, and a few different mods.

cam is a 212/218 @ .050

also have 1.7's heads are ported right from odessa. 50mm throttle body, and long tube headers.

i tow regularly in the summer, and plow all winter long. merc recommended a 2200-2400 stall converter for my setup.

 

Might want to look into the stall a little more. I remember in MonteC's thread he was saying to go to a rv converter (lower stall than stock) for pulling and whatnot. That way the motor does the work, not the trans.

Up to you, just figured Id throw that out there.

 

Good luck with that!! I hope you have a good tranny cooler if you are going to be plowing and towing. If you wasn't doing that you would be okay. Our motors are similar, but the cams are very different. Your cam comes in at a lower rpm than what mine does, that is why I am running the 4.56 gears. I have bottom end power with the gears and top end plus it sounds pretty decent too.

That's a good idea, remember to tell them you have plans to build a higher comp motor down the road, if you still plan to.

edit: email sent to hemifever! got one friend coming so far, and 3 have yet to confirm. im hoping to get it in and running next sunday. if not, i atleast want to get the motor installed, then i can work on the rest of it myself through the week.
