redneck_rams 360 build thread
i think i have a cylinder either not firing, or not getting fuel. after this snow stops and melts i need to go and investigate. im thinkin its cyl number 8... but i think i have an o-ring leak.
which would also cause it to act like the way it is acting... correct?
im lovin the sound this new motor makes.....
so frickin THROATY!!!
Nice job man, kudos on all the hard work.
Since you got long tubes, and you are putting the pacesetter y pipe on there as well, how far back with that Y be? If I remember right, from one of the older threads, when a dude did long tubes the headers. They ended by the side of the tranny? So how far back will the y pipe sit? Where are you mounting the high flow cat?

i put the y-pipe on today while laying on a 4x8 sheet of plywood ontop of 8" of snow... (im so ready for spring!)
motor quieted down quite a bit with just a cat on there lol. slp muffler will be going on as soon as i can get a band clamp!
tomorrow i have to take the fuel rail off for the 3rd time cause of a leaky injector o-ring. if its not too muddy, ill attempt to get the t-case back in. ill most definitely get the cooling system back in place, and filled with coolant.
is there a way to adjust the idle screw on these trucks? my motor is idling at 500 rpms, it sounds good(lopey) but freaks me out because its supposed to be around 700 iirc.
also, this thing is running pig rich right now. between 11, and 13, sometimes 14(which is actually pretty normal) need to get that thing tuned. least i know itll run ok with what its got for a tune currently.
The truck needs to be fully put back together and bought up to temp a couple of time's so the pcm can figure out what's going on. Setting the fuel sync should also be checked once the motor has reached opt temp.
sounds sooooooooooooooo good though. wish you could be here to hear it man!
im gonna get the cooling system back together tomorrow, and run it for awhile. im also gonna fix the leaky injector. tired of hearing it miss! maybe ill get enough done tomorrow to take it for a spin. we shall see!
I think Sean can set the offest on IAC for the idle - not 100% certain. But in industrial applications, that is how you control stepping motors. They go to close, then step back to open to preset, then compare idle spped and adjust if necessary. Since you are getting a custom tune, now would be the time to investigate that possibility.

hoping to get the direct fit magnaflow cat sold so i can buy the custom tune from sean. sucks when money is tight!
