Default $300 Maaco paint job

I see Maaco has a special going on right now on their lowest level paint job for $300. I am wondering how you guys think this would look. My truck has been painted before and it was green and the people painted black. It was a very cheap job. The paint is starting to peel a little now and you can see the green underneath. It also doesnt shine like I want it to. I've been thinking about getting it repainted black and this seems like it would be a good deal. If it isn't gonna look much better though i'd rather not waste my money because it is very tight right now. Whatever input you have i would like to hear it..

It's just a base, no clear. We used them to paint my sons first car. It looked really good the day we picked it up, but at the end of a months time, it was dull and no amount of wax shined it. It is $300 for a reason. It turned out good though, no runs or anything, it just did not shine because there is no clearcoat. I'm not sure how much more it would cost to get the clearcoat put on. I have read others had terrible experiences with Maaco, but I was not displeased with the quality or servuce, just wish we would have had it clerarcoated. But for a $1500 car, it was worth it, imo.

You get what you pay for. If it was me? Save for a good paint job.

Also, it sounds like yours is going to require a bit more prep work that comes with that $300 paint job. If your top layer is peeling, it probably should be sanded down to the primer or maybe the metal and start over. Painting on top of paint thats peeling will just result in more peeling. You could save some money and sand it yourself then have it painted.

This looks more like a General Section question rather than a technical question.

WTF???

The 300 dollar paint job does not include ANY prep work, and very little in the way of masking off things that shouldn't be painted. Don't waste your money.
