Ha! Nothing cheap doing a motor rebuild. i remember $150 would completely rebuild any engine. Blueprinted engine was about $500!

But stroking one with internals, cost adds quickly today.

Thanks for mentioning the stroker GDstock. Looks to me like a better way to spend money and make alot more power without raising compression much! Probably be less expensive too than grinding the crank etc... WOW! either be the 408 or 410.

Might be easier just to drop a V10 in the damn thing.

But than you'd have to get a matching transmission.....

It's staying V8 . I like the stroker idea... Save me time and money matching bearings, pistons, rods, and getting the crank ground. Also gives more capacity than what I was originally planning to do with the pistons and boring it out.

If you where to all that you need to add balancing to that list.

410 stroker kit I found includes balancing. Complete kit with pistons, rods, bearings, and crank for $1556 including balancing.

I know what you found, my post was to point out that if you bought all the parts separate you would need to have the rotating assy balanced adding more cost to the build. So what kit are you looking at Scat or Eagle?

Edit: GO to big on the stroker kit and the block will need to be clearance for the rods, adding to machine work costs.
