Not a waste of money at all, it will help your current tranny survive. If you want a ez cheaper build (approx $3000-$5000) for your motor have a look at Redneck_Rams motor build thread.

Yes, the "canned" tunes comes with 3 tunes, one for each fuel grade. Nope, changing tunes is easy, I think it takes around 5 minutes or so... You can go back and forth however you want/need to.

Getting that tranny - already has improvements in valve body, so no kit is required. Dropping old one out and installing new one is about a 6 hour task if you have the tools.
A cooler would be a good investment.
Changing the tune is about a three to five minute process. Just plug into OBDII port and follow screen instructions. I got a great performance increase on the 87 tune, I saw no reason to change and pay more $ for premium.
