Default Clunking sound when turning.

I have a loud clunking/clicking sound whenever I am turning at a low speed. Really annoying. Can anybody tell me what it could be?

4X4???? If so, check the wheel joints.

Check the wheel bearings, u joints and the ball joints.. Also check to make sure the shocks are at the proper torque.

It sounds like its coming from the passenger side but about November of last year we had the passenger side wheel bearing replaced and about 2 years ago we had the passenger side u joint also replaced. I have messed with that u joint and it has a little bit of play in it but not bad. And a mechanic said that it is time for some new ball joints. The sound sounds like it is going with the turning of the wheels.

But of course it could be coming from anywhere because like anyone would say, sound does bounce off of metal. Lol

If it is sloppy, time for a new one. Might just as well change both of them when you do ball joints. You are going to be RIGHT there in any event.

Yeah, front axle u-joints. It's best to replace both of them at the same time if you can manage it.

That doesn't mean anything. I've replaced both my wheel joints twice, in less than a year. And I don't off-road.
