Wiring an Accessory Power Outlet
This is in the General Forum because it's NOT for a Dodge, but for my tractor. 
My brother wants some video (and I'm certain some of you chumps would, as well) of when I get my Allis Chalmers running. Since I don't have a video recorder it occurred to me that I could use my soon-to-arrive HD720p IR Dash Camera . All I need to do is scavenge a power outlet from either the 1997 Dodge or the 1996 Crown Vic that I'm parting.
Anyway, I wasn't sure if I would wire the outlet directly to the battery, if it needs some type of fuse, or --- ?
Some input from an electrical guru would be nice.

I should have clarified that. It's 12V.
Okaaaaayyyyy. What rating fuse, what kind of relay, and how do I wire all of this?

I think the fuse for the power outlet in Rams is like 15 or 20 amps. I don't remember.

OK, but do I wire the outlet straight to the battery? Connect the hot lead to the fuse, then to the positive and the black lead to the frame?
