From what I gather it's a good idea to introduce oneself to the group. So "HI". I've finished restoring my great-grandfather's 1951 one ton DODGE truck and I am starting my next project. I'm going to use a 94 RAM2500 frame and power train but with a 50's Dodge cab, front clip and a fab'd flat bed stake side. I figure that I'd intro myself sooner rather than later to see if there are any tricks/tips for this project.

Thanks for letting me participate in the community!

I actually don't know if this is the correct section. Shouldn't he actually be in the 2nd gen section since he is using a 94 frame? Our first gen trucks really have nothing in common with the 50s rides.

thanks, I thought I was putting it in the right section, this forum has a LOT of headings and sub headings, I'll try to keep things on track in the future. I think ^^^ is correct this does belong in the 2nd gen.

Thanks for the welcome. I hope I fianlly landed in the right "section" for this project. It is the 94 diesel engine (6bt?) in the donor truck. Now I wonder if I should be in the diesel secion of the forum! Regardless, I think I belong in this section a bit for all non-engine related issues. I'm just getting parts together, but hopefully this fall will be starting to strip down the 2500 to get it ready for a rebuild of all the parts so I don't have to do it all again in a few years.

The diesel section is dead on here. I'm sure Jigabop and Wombat can help with all your diesel stuff

That '94 12v will be a super simple swap (all mechanical, no computers required, run all mechanical gauges) and a great reliable motor for your project.
