I may have to make my own Y-pipe now. bah! But it's actually more manageable wrt everything else.

Question: No change to exhaust manifolds. Good idea to just remake driver side down pipe to collector? Reason is not damage...yet. lol Just a random question since you just recently did related work.
I don't really get what your saying haha. That ford axle giving you troubles?

When should I do the first oil change? My book says 4 hours or 200 miles. That seems kind of long. I would like to do it as soon as possible, but I don't know how long I need the break in oil. I have a new mopar filter and conventional oil ready to go.

We have roller cams so probably just whenever you want. Some people don't even use break in oil.

Of course I haven't even completely assembled my first engine build yet so what do I know. Lol

Break in oil is for more than just the cam. You want to make sure the rings are seated in the cylinders good also. And all the bearings need to wear in properly so the break in oil is for a lot more than just a cam.

Is this beast purring yet?? K.

Hard to top four 8's. Looking forward to pics.

edit: OK, I assume you're past 1/2 hour of 1200 to 1500 rpm, shut down, cool off, set timing and drive it like you stole it.
