Have you looked at your state dmv regulations regarding maybe changing to earlier year PCM?

Have you tried cutting it off and back on?

Cutting what off haha? I think it bogs in gear because my engine makes too much torque. I think I need a higher stall converter. Anyone know the stock stall and a good place to get a higher stall at a decent price?

My vote is for a manual swap. No stall needed.

You are on the right track, 2200-2400 stall is what you are looking for.

+1 on the manual swap, mine won't happen until after I get the 81 GMC ready for winter.

I'm having trouble finding a converter. Got a link to any?

I run a 2300 stall with the 210/220 cam, 2.02s, and M1 and am very happy.
