Ok cool that plenum plate will save me money. But why 1.7 rockers over 1.6? Don't the stock heads stop flowing at that much lift and won't it just wear the valve guides?

If you're running a cam with more lift, the 1.7s might cause more wear. But if you're running a stock cam, those 1.7's ACT like a bigger cam.

Huh? You have valve guides.... probably bronze, pressed into the head. (that would be nice... but, could be just cast iron as well...)

Are you thinking guideplates for the pushrods perhaps?

My Odessa heads do NOT have valve guides, if the valves get too loose I have to have the guide bore bored out and a guide installed.

No this thinking is wrong, no extra wear will result in using a little bigger cam with a 1.7 roller rocker.

See above.

Valve guides can be repaired to a point, if possible they are knurled then honed to size, if they are past that point they can be pressed out of the head and new ones pressed into the head. I would lay odds that your odessa heads have bronze guilds like 99% of the rest of the heads made have. I can call them if you like to find out.

Edit: I do use push rod guild plates they are used with most other brands of adjustable RR's like the Mopar ones I use.

Sure go ahead and call them, I have the Odessa HD Towing Heads. Note I have the optional hardened valves.

^^^ When I get a chance I will, not the first time I have emailed/called them. So probably after the long weekend I will post my findings right or wrong.
