Default 95' Bed Capacity

I was haulin' some hay today and noticed that the back end was "swiming" and was sitting a little low. The bales were 90-100lbs each and had a total of 12. Now once I got home I noticed that the weight wasn't distributed all that well but with only about 1200lbs I don't think the frame should be 1/2 an inch from resting on the axle, right?

Half ton truck? You were probably seriously pushing the load limit there. Squatting with that much weight really isn't a surprise.

do you have a level kit installed? if so that lowers how much weight you can haul in the bed. my 81 has no issue hauling a full ton but the front end sits low and the back end sits high.

I dont know if there is a leveling kit on it, but i thought that the bed capacity would have been closer to about 4,000 lbs

Half ton truck. Half a ton is 1000 pounds.

Edit: That said, seems your cargo capacity maxes out around 1800 pounds......

The problem with the 1/2 tons is the engine will pull way more than the little ole 1500 suspension can handle

With that being said, is there any I can do to increase the bed capacity that is low price before changing the axles to 3/4 ton? (future modification)
