360 Rebuild!
Yep there is special feeling about rebuilding your first engine. I rebuilt my first engine when I was 11 years old. It was only a 8HP 1 cylinder engine for my mini-bike but that got me started.
My most fun engine was for my Suzuki Samurai. I pulled the engine by hand and my GF let me do all the work in our kitchen. It was fun.........
Keep up the good work Blue it is all looking great. Wish my son wanted to do stuff like this. :-(

Quick update: I've gotten all of my rocker arms on and torqued. Put in oil, break-in additive, and oil filter on yesterday. Put my new plenum pan on the intake. Got the dizzy lined up. Today we will run the oil pump with a drill and pre-run the engine before we start it. After that I'll put on my intake and it'll be about a week before I can bring my truck in for the swap!
Umm yeah. Haha dumb question but I have no knowledge on the fuel sync. How do you do that? I put the oil pump shaft the same as it came out with the dizzy. Does that do the fuel sync or not?
I am not 100% sure either, but I think you need a fancy scanner and you turn the dizzy like if you were setting the timing on an older vehicle. I think I saw you can do it with a multimeter too, but it's not as good as with the scan tool. I think I'm going to try the multimeter on mine because our scanner at school can't do it, and last time I called the dealership they didn't even know what I was talking about.
Theres a buleetin or something the service manual about it.
Merc knows what it is and has posted about it. Show it to the dealer to point them in the direction. And if they still don't get it, find another dealer haha

Blue if you do a search for Fuel Sync I'll bet you come up with a ton of results.
The way I know how to do the fuel sync is to use a Snap On MT 2500 http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trks...at=0&_from=R40
You have to have the right cartridge then hook the scanner up to your truck. Once in the scanner you find fuel sync and adjust it as close to zero as you can. Now the repair manual says to do it this way but there are some people on here who have adjusted their fuel sync to +4 or -1 and it has ran better. So all you can do is try.
On a side note I have an extra MT2500 with no cables or cartridges that I'd sell for $125.00 shipped.

Hmm..thanks guys for the info. We have a scanner at school, I'll look today and see if has anything for fuel sync on it, if not I'll have to start researching and looking around.
