tonneau cover downforce
ok yes i know about the slight increase of gas millage with having a tonneau cover put on. which is true i had to drive and hour to a loaction as i bought one off of craigslist for $50. i was on the interstate 70mph cruise i was getting about 11mpg-12mpg. put cover on at the guys house on the way back 70mph cruise it was about 12-13mpg.
anyways thats not my question. does a tonneau cover give more( more force pushing on real wheels) or takes away(less force on rear wheels, AKA lighter)down force on the real wheels? or nothing at all of a difference?

A lot of people don't notice a difference with them covers.
I heard this somewhere that on mythbusters or something they did a test with the cover and without. When the air goes over the cab into the bed it creates a spiraling motion inside the bed.
Not sure if that's how it's stated or not. But that's all I got. Maybe someone can elaborate more.

Covers, caps, tailgates up or down, airgates, etc, have little or no effect on fuel economy. It's a truck. It is almost as aerodynamic as a brick. Sure, you might have gotten a bit better mileage on the return trip, but, what direction was the prevailing wind coming from? Wind speed? Etc. Hell, even the time of day can make a difference in fuel economy.......

I was told there wouldn't be any math.

well the question really wasn't about fuel mileage as yes i have heard its very very minimal. it may save me $10 a year LOL.
i was wondering about down force on the rear driving on the highway. just curios that's all.
