Default Dodge dealership oil change

Well, I picked up the mail the other day and the only dealership in town (Dodge) sent me a coupon for oil change to equal 5 quarts and filter at $24.95. So, the 97 gets it early. Now that's cheaper than my usual place ($30.00). I'll have to see if that's their regular price.

My $67.00 oil change in the Cummins I planned on is next month, so I'll also see what their regular price is.

Now on the 97, I'm assuming I can choose my regular oil (only excludes synthetics). Anybody have feed back on dealership specials like this?

If they have the Express Lane, there are some package specials. I can't remember what the diesel one was, but the standard car is $69 for 4 of them over max 2 year period. I can't even do my own for that.

TNtech, thanks. Let's hope it crosses state lines. K.

Just keep in mind the only reason dealers send out these "specials" is to get you in there so they can find a host of other things that need to be repaired and try to sucker you into letting them do the work, thus making them a boatload more money. Be an informed consumer. They count on at least 1 sucker out of maybe 10 customers maybe that will fall for some "recommended", unnecessarily expensive service.

I took my truck to a local auto place for its last oil change (if I can get it done for under $20, I'll do it), anyway, to make a long story short, the $20 oil change was going to grow to a $900 repair bill for a host of "things" they found wrong. Just don't fall for it.

Around here, I can get oil changes done for 20 bucks. I can't even do it myself for that money.... so, I happily let someone else crawl around under my snow and salt covered truck......

My neighbor recently bought a 2011 2500 Cummins. He told me that the Dodge dealer was the cheapest place around for oil changes- I think he said $70. I've always changed my oil myself- would probably be different if I lived farther north

"If they have the Express Lane, there are some package specials"
You might just ask them.

My local dealer with express in IL didn't send me anything. I was asked by the service writer if I wanted to do the 4 for 65 package. I told him I have two vehicles. He says no problem, 130! How could I refuse?

Don't forget the "shop charges" and "environmental fees" usually add $10 to the price....so that $19.99 special usually runs closer to $30. At least around here it does. But, yes, there are some deals out there too good to say no to. Just remember to say NO to the standard "your air filter is dirty, we will replace it for $49.99". : )

Thanks guys, great input as usual. However, they did themselves in before I could fully get through the door. The day I posted, I had called and was told by a male employee what time to bring the truck (2:00 PM). I arrived promptly a 2 today, provided them with the coupon and they indicated it will be a 2 to 3 hour wait and I should drop the truck off. She indicated Monday at 8:00 AM would be a better time to "drop it off". So far, that's drive 2 vehicles 11 miles for one $24.95 oil change, plus disposal, plus tax. She offered up faster service on Monday if dropped off early.

So it's my local place where it's $30 for the 360 V8 with 5 quarts and filter, no disposal and tax included. The long 20 minute wait gives me time to read our local paper (no gimmicks, no BS).

I thought it was more in the line of get me in the door, great package deal for perhaps a future new vehicle sale. I was in town to have a tooth pulled any way, which turned out to be more pleasurable. K.
